In situ powder X-ray diffraction during hydrogen reduction of MoO3 to MoO2

چکیده
The hydrogen reduction of molybdenum trioxide to dioxide is not yet fully understood as evident by continuous scientific interest. Especially the effect potassium content on process has been considered. We prepared several samples containing varying amounts addition molybdate (K2MoO4). In situ powder X-ray diffraction experiments were then conducted study these samples. especially focused influence alkali and gaining insight into importance intermediary product γ-Mo4O11. During process, MoO2 formed from MoO3, which reacts with starting material form With increasing content, rate decreased fractional γ-Mo4O11 built up during increased. As bulk sample reduction, this results in a significant increase grain size visualized via scanning electron microscopy. Our investigations once again underline morphology resulting powder.

X-Ray Powder Diffraction Metrics
To compare sample data from x-ray diffraction a suitable metric is developed to evaluate the similarity (or dissimilarity) between samples and to compare it to a references. The methodology focuses on the d-lines and uses the intensity measurements indirectly in the algorithm. The resulting d-line distribution and summary statistics of the differences is used to establish whether a true differe...
متن کاملFULL PAPER In situ X-ray Diffraction Investigation of Hydrogen Storage Alloys During Charge and Discharge
Metal hydride electrodes have shown to be useful both in secondary batteries, e.g. the Ni/metal hydride system, and more recently in fuel cells, especially for direct borohydride fuel cells. This work provides in situ X-ray diffraction (XRD) results aiming at characterizing the phase transitions of the LaNi4.7Sn0.2Cu0.1 metal hydride alloy with and without Pt in the particle surface when charge...
متن کاملCation ordering in magnesioferrite, MgFe2O4, to 982 °C using in situ synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction
Magnesioferrite spinel, MgFe2O4, was synthesized at 900 °C from equimolar amounts of reagentgrade oxides, MgO and Fe2O3, and quenched in air. The structural behavior of magnesioferrite was determined from in situ synchrotron X-ray powder-diffraction data [ = 0.92225(4) Å] at room pressure and temperatures from 28 to 982 °C on heating and cooling. The a unit-cell parameter increases linearly on ...
متن کاملX-ray powder diffraction on proteins
Macromolecular structures are traditionally determined by means of single crystal X ray diffraction from protein crystals of micrometer dimensions. Nevertheless, the growth of good quality single crystals can be very difficult or even impossible, especially in cases of large proteins, membrane proteins or protein complexes. Modern developments of X-ray powder diffraction have allowed the struct...
